The Fortress solution is aFortress Custody is a Securities processing Applicationdesigned for Commercial Banks and CSDPs (Central Securities Depository Participants).The solution has been developeda Microsoft Ms SQL database in a .Net environment.
The system is completely STP (Straight Through Processing) compliant with automated communication back to clients continuously. CSD commit validation and pre-exception management handling are totally automated.
The Corporate Action module is entirely configurable and parameterized from inbound corporate actions declarations and elections through to outbound notifications and payment confirmations.
The system has a flexible reporting system that allows the system to automatically generate and e-mail the monthly required reports to a client.
Monthly Management Information Statistics (MIS) are completely automated including a graphical analysis.
The web interface has two interfaces namely user-interface via a web-browser, and programmatically via a web-service call.
From an IT support point of view, careful thought was put into the development of upgrades/patches to the system.Specifically database and software upgrades are completely automated from a single source. With the new programming environment STT has employed the use of development tools that facilitate automated system testing and code management, which were not previously available.
